The Meals on Wheels program consists of a hot meal delivered to your door between 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. To be eligible to receive meals, recipients must be 60 or older and home bound, meaning they spend most of their time at home or are unable to prepare healthy, consistent meals in their homes for medical or social reasons. Meals on Wheels is a donation based program; the minimum suggested donation is $5.00 per meal. If you, or someone you know, would like to receive meals through the Meals on Wheels program, please call 605-333-3305 for more information.

Someone You Should Know: Backup Meals on Wheels Driver Has Been a Big Help!
If the Sioux Falls School System is closed due to bad weather, then Active Generations is closed also. There will be no congregate dining or Meals on Wheels delivery in Sioux Falls, Brandon, Garretson, Harrisburg and Tea. If Brandon, Garretson, Harrisburg or Tea is closed but Sioux Falls is open, there will be No Delivery to those cities. Please listen to the local television and radio stations for cancellation announcements. We will make every effort to deliver meals whenever possible after bad weather, but if drivers do not feel that it is safe for them, they will not deliver. We will not ask the drivers to put themselves in jeopardy.
The Active Generations’ Senior Nutrition Program serves Minnehaha, Lincoln, Turner, McCook and Union Counties. Call your local Senior Center to make a reservation or to apply for the Senior Meals Program.
From our Meals on Wheels recipients:
I am grateful for the MOW Volunteers! They are so dedicated to the giving of their time. They contribute to making my life so much easier. I would NEVER be able to eat as healthy on my own. Thanks so much especially to the drivers and all those who work to make this program available…Home Delivered Meal Recipient
