All Access Campaign

Minnehaha County’s aging population is projected to double by 2035 and demand for Active Generations’ programs and services has continued to increase alongside population growth.

Active Generations has identified ● THREE ● programs and services in need of expanded access:

Social Engagement & Wellbeing
Active Generations East is expected to grow membership between the two facilities to 5,000 by 2028

  • The activities program prioritizes socialization for many people isolated from family.
  • 50+ clubs to participate in spanning diverse interests, including health and wellness, technology, arts and crafts, and games.
  • Fully equipped for fitness and rehabilitation.

Adult Day & Caregiver Services
Active Generations East will serve 32 more individuals per day

  • Day Break serves 149 people each month with guided care for dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other diagnoses that do not allow the individuals to be home while their caregivers are away.
  • Day Break had its largest single-day enrollment on August 10, 2022.
  • For every caregiver served, there is an additional recipient.

Nutrition Services
Active Generations East expects to serve 150-200 congregate meals per day

  • Congregate dining offers individuals a balanced meal with conversation and connectivity.
  • Meals on Wheels provides daily contact that serves as a wellness check on homebound individuals. 49% of our Meals on Wheels clients currently live alone.
  • Our Nutrition program has expanded with additional routes. Active Generations currently runs 35 routes each day and currently serves 24,000 meals monthly.

A sincere thank you to the many volunteers assisting this campaign.
