Our Mission

Meals on Wheels is dedicated to providing nutritious meals, companionship, and community support to seniors and individuals in need, empowering them to live independently with dignity in their own homes.

We aim to reduce isolation, improve quality of life, and foster a compassionate community.

Program Details, Eligibility & How to Enroll

Meals are delivered Monday–Friday between 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for individuals aged 60+ who are homebound. A suggested donation of $5.25 per meal is appreciated.

Volunteer Opportunities

Meals on Wheels Packing: Location: Active Generations Main (2300 W. 46th St)

Arrive at 9:20 am, packing starts at 9:30 am.
Volunteers pack over 550 meals daily in under an hour.

Delivery: Flexible scheduling, routes take ~1.5 hours.

Pick-up locations: Active Generations, Hope Lutheran, First United Methodist.
Volunteers are often the only contact for participants that day.

Weather Policy

If Sioux Falls Schools are closed, Active Generations and Meals on Wheels delivery will also be canceled for Sioux Falls, Brandon, Garretson, Harrisburg, and Tea.
