Rake the Town
Each fall, Active Generations brings the community together through Rake the Town, a volunteer-driven event that helps older adults and individuals with disabilities who need support with seasonal tasks prepare their yards for the winter season.
This annual effort connects caring volunteers with those who need a helping hand, and makes it possible for participants to stay safe, independent, and proud of their homes.
How It Works
Rake the Town is a community-wide event serving individuals in the Sioux Falls area, including Brandon, who are:
- Adults aged 60 and older who need assistance with yard work
- Or individuals under 60 with a documented disability
Volunteers sign up to rake leaves, bag them, and haul them away during a designated week in the fall. Whether you’re an individual, family, business, or community group, participating is a meaningful way to give back while making a visible difference in your neighborhood.
