Active Generations’ Continuing Response Regarding the COVID-19 Outbreak In the continued best interest of our community, participants and guests, we are will be closed for non-essential programs UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. We will continue to re-evaluate this daily for any changes and will keep you informed based on the Center for Disease Control, the South Dakota Department of Health and City of Sioux Falls Health Departments advice. Non-essential programs include all social, recreational, exercise classes, fitness room, and educational activities. All of these events will be cancelled beginning on Monday, March 16. All outside agency’s events have also been cancelled. AARP Tax-Aide appointments has been suspended by the National AARP Foundation until the national internet software is back on line. They are suggesting that you find another preparer to complete your taxes. Day Break and Ceili Cottage: Services are suspended until further notice for the safety of our participants, families and staff. Essential programs and services which will be continuing are: Nutrition Department: **Congregate meals at Active Generations will be PICK UP only from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm at the North Meals on Wheels door. The option to have 5 to 7 meals delivered as a congregate diner is a possibility. Please call 333-3305 to be placed on this list **The home delivered meal program (Meals-on-Wheels) will continue and only leave meals outside the doors for participants. Workers-on-Wheels (W.O.W): Medical appointment rides and grocery shopping trips will be offered if already assigned. Volunteers will have the discretion to opt out of serving, but should let the staff know so other arrangements can be made. S.H.I.I.N.E: Medicare Insurance advice will be limited to phone only consultations. Caregiver Outreach: Contact will be limited to phone only consultations. BRIDGES Employment Resource Center: Information will be limited to phone only consultations. Extra efforts for cleaning and sanitizing the building are happening over this closure period.
